The Farm at Dreamer's Estates

Meet Charlie, owner at The Farm at Dreamer’s Estates!

The Farm at Dreamer’s Estates is a hobby farm accompanied by a greenhouse. They sell at Geauga Fresh, and also have a roadside stand on their property. Charlie takes the lead at the farm but is always supported by his daughter Melissa, granddaughter Belle, and his wife, Cindy!

What got you interested in farming?

My grandfather had a farm and I enjoyed helping out when I was growing up.

What is something we may not know about you and you’d love to share?

After getting started and making a lots of mistakes I was lucky to be able to take Master Gardner Volunteer classes with the Ohio State University Extension office in Burton. I am getting better at using best practices and identifying problems quicker. Still making a lot of mistakes, but having fun.

A gardening tip, farming tip, how to make/use something you grow?

Hanging baskets and other flowers from growers are planted in a sterile medium not soil from your garden. Those items that you are keeping in the pots need to have regular applications of fertilizer to keep them growing and looking great. Don’t forget to water as needed, with the hot days coming it could be more that once a day.

Is there anything we need to look forward to coming up from you at the market?

We will be offering Mums this fall starting around Labor Day. Twelve different varieties with bloom dates starting in September and going through October.
