Bainbridge Blooms

Bainbridge Blooms

Meet Tiffany, owner of Bainbridge Blooms!

Tiffany started making soaps in 2018 to help with her anxiety from working in a corporate environment as a product photographer. She started planting lavender plants around her home, and after drying many pounds of it, she decided to make soap with it and sell it on Etsy, and it has grown ever since. Eventually she realized not only does she love growing herbs, but also growing cut flowers. All of it brings such a sense of calm and happiness into her life that she started looking for more land to expand her vision. In 2022, her and her husband invested in a property in Bainbridge, that is now called Bainbridge Blooms.

What is your business? What is it to you?

Bainbridge Blooms is an herb and flower farm that is committed to providing high-quality, fresh, and sustainable products to the community. I growing a wide variety of herbs, flowers, and other plants using environmentally friendly methods. I also offer a range of products that include both fresh and dried herbs, as well as cut flowers that are perfect for weddings, special events, or just to brighten up your home. The farm also offers a selection of handmade herbal products such as soaps, lotions, and other natural remedies that are made with their own herbs. The farm also has a self serve farm stand that is open to the public April - September.

My business is everything to me, literally. It is not just a business, it has given me a sense of pride, motivation, health and community.

Who works with you? Is it a family affair or a solo labor of love?

My husband Matt and I are partners in Bainbridge Blooms, but it is my dream, vision and passion project. Matt is my support when it comes to financial decisions, and reality, and I am the dreamer, and labor. I always joke and say, I want to buy the Unicorn, and Matt wants to make a spreadsheet on how much the Unicorn costs, and analyze if Unicorns are really real. We are very much opposites, which makes a great balance in business. I do not have any employees, and Matt works a full time job so he is not able to be at the farm daily, so if you come to the farm, or see anything online it is just me Tiffany.

What is something that surprised you about starting your business?

Ha! EVERYTHING! But the two most surprising things were, 1. How expensive it is to start and run a farm! 2. How incredibly hard, physically and mentally it is to be a farmer. It is not for the weak or faint of heart.

What is the your favorite thing that you sell?

That is a tough question, because I LOVE selling cut flower bouquets and seeing the joy the beautiful flowers bring to people's faces. But I really love creating soap because I know I am able to provide something to someone that could genuinely help them day to day.

Why did you decide to sell at Geauga Fresh?

I started selling my soaps at Geauga Fresh in winter of 2020 before I was called Bainbridge Blooms. I was testing it out to see if the community would like my soaps, and it was incredible. What was incredible was the wonderful welcome I got from the Geauga Fresh farmers, and community, they welcomed me with open arms and I have never left.

Is there are anything new in the works that we have to look forward to?

Yes! I am expanding in 2025! I will be clearing more trees (sustainably not cutting all the trees) and will be growing many many more herbs and flowers to offer to the community. I have already planted 40 peony plants, and hundreds of tulips too! I plan to offer more classes and workshops in 2025 too.

Tell us a fun fact/hobby/something you do outside of work.

Matt and I have recently taken up kayaking with our dogs! We have an 11 year old black lab, and a 9 year old golden retriever that we take hiking all the time and now we are all learning how to kayak together. It is an interesting process with large dogs, but we absolutely love being in nature and relaxing in our free time.
