South Russell Village parking lot at Rt. 306 and Bell St. until October 4.

Annual Salsa ContestThis Saturday, Sept. 6, vendors and customers are encouraged to enter their favorite salsa – hot, sweet, cooked or fresh - zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, tomatillo, peach, or tomato.

Bring a pint of your favorite home-made salsa to the market booth between 9:30 and 10:00AM. Tasting begins just after 10:00am. Everyone is welcome to vote on their favorite.

Tomato Tasting Contest Results

On August 23 the market held the annual tomato tasting contest. The Divokys of Maple Valley Farm and Sugarbush entered a Sun Gold Cherry Tomato, the most popular variety, as well as the second place tomato, an heirloom cherry tomato called Red Cherry.  Third place was a Rutger's tomato entered by Dave Walker of Cherrywood Garlic and Herb Farm. Everyone expressed surprise at the difference in the flavor, color and texture of the many tomatoes they tasted!

This week at the market shop for sweet corn this week and blueberries, raspberries, peaches, zucchini, summer squash, potatoes, peas, beans, salad greens,  cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli as well as cut flowers, honey, jams, maple syrup, cheese, eggs, meat, baked goods, soaps and lotions, salsas, sauces, pickles, and much more seasonal produce and locally produced crafts.
